Fractal Beach 2018 is set to return to the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami, Florida from February 2nd-4th. The Miami-based concert promotion company Massive Ideas recently released their first round lineup. This will be Massive Ideas 2nd year organizing the 3 day Music, Art, Culture, and Movement festival.
Not only can you expect an electronic music lineup that includes headlining names such as Papadosio and Thriftworks, but also beachfront camping and state-of-the-art sound, stage, and lighting design. In addition, there will be ongoing yoga and movement workshops. Equally important, interactive art installations and live painting from preeminent visionary artists will be included in the experience. For the thinkers out there, an interdisciplinary schedule of educational workshops and discussion panels from leading subject matter experts across a variety of culturally-engaging and thought-provocative fields will also be available.
Founder and Creative Director Anders Sherberger expanded on the inspiration for Fractal Beach during an interview with Eric Garcia of The Miami New Times:
“Fractal Beach is modeled after other “transformational festivals” like Lightning in a Bottle, Symbiosis, Shambhala, and Envision. The idea is to mix yoga, music, workshops, and tons of amazing art to create something that’s more than an event; it’s a container for change. We’re excited to bring South Florida its first transformational festival.”
Sherberger/Massive Ideas teamed up with Dubday – MIA on Friday, December 8th to throw their second annual installment of Fractal Basel in Wynwood. CharlestheFirst was featured as a headlining set. Fractal Basel incorporated both music and live/interactive art for audiences who may not prefer the typical South Beach club atmosphere. It stayed in theme with Art Basel – Miami’s world-renowned annual contemporary art show.
