Sunburn, an electronic music festival spread over three days on Candolim Beach in Goa, is said to be Asia’s largest music festival. This festival is an entertaining attraction that draws major crowds from all over the world. Sunburn had seven massive stages in 2013 with 120 different artists; however this festival has other activities such as rock climbing, massages, mechanical bull riding, and more in addition to the music.
Sunburn returns for its eighth year to Goa this December 23-27, 2014. The first Sunburn took place in 2007, with 36 artists and headliners such as Above & Beyond, Carl Cox, and Axwell and now has four times as many artists. In 2009, CNN named Sunburn the 9th Best Festival in the World. What’s new for 2014 includes 8 stages, over 150 artists, a 200-foot main stage (the biggest festival stage in Asia), more Afterdark party venues in Goa and free access to these parties for VIP ticket holders, travel packages, and more genres of dance music.
The phase one announcement was released on October 17th and the phase two announcement is on the way. The first phase includes headliner Knife Party, an Australian dance music duo who also makes up the popular dance music act Pendulum. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, a Greek electronic music duo who just were named #2 on the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, are also on the phase one announcement alongside other artists such as Sander van Doorn, Head Hunterz, Dubvision, Michael Woods, Krewella, Baauer, Jamie Jones, Paul Oakenfold and more.
