As we slowly approach festival season, more and more music festival lineups are being released. Most music lovers initially look at the headliners on these announcement, but today we are going to highlight a different aspect, #localtalent. For #festivalfriday we bring you a list of a few home grown acts to look out for at Bilbao BBK Live, Welcome To The Future Festival, OFF Festival, Lowlands, and Oasis.
Bilbao BBK Live, Spain – Featuring BALDO
Atop the stunning Kobetamendi Hill, Spanish DJ-Producer Baldo will bring his unique sound to Bilbao BBK Live. Drawing from all areas of house and techno, Baldo’s music includes elements of ambient-acid moods and flavors of Chicago and Detroit. With a residency at Barcelona’s iconic Razzmatazz Club, he is famed for bringing the party! Soundcloud

Welcome To The Future Festival, The Netherlands- Featuring MIRELLA KROES
Dutch DJ Mirella Kroes will be featured at Welcome To The Future Festival. Her music favors the contemporary deeper side of techno that entices audiences in her native Amsterdam and beyond. Mirella Kroes’ meticulously crafted DJ sets allow listeners time to appreciate the space between sounds and the crispy little details that keep it fresh. Soundcloud
Welcome to the Future festival will be hosted at Het Twiske’s mesmerizing nature reserve for the 11th year in a row. This festival features many of the most relevant house and techno DJs and live-acts. Among those headlining on the eight stages are Loco Dice, Chris Liebing, Seth Troxler, Dave Clarke, Kölsch, Damian Lazarus, Kerri Chandler and Lil Louis. Artefakt, Monoloc, Audion, Jackmaster, Claptone, DJ Seinfeld and Ross From Friends are also confirmed to play. OFF Festival, Poland – Featuring SIKSA
SIKSA is a Polish duo that will leave you thunderstuck with their raw form and uncompromising lyrics. In their own words, “SIKSA is an infantile and antisocial nightmare that emerged from the punk rock, theater, and literature scenes.” It’s “loud-mouthed literature shouted over vulgar bass marches, spat out here and now by a non-actress and non-musician…” And to make things easier for their lazier listeners, they offer the following comparison: “SIKSA is part Britney Spears and part Geurnica y Luno.”
OFF is a festival for discovery of the best alternative acts from around the world. Driven by the festival’s forward–thinking, eclectic music policy, and its bold and diverse lineups, the festival’s reputation is growing with each new year. Lowlands, The Netherlands – Featuring SMIB WORLDWIDE
SMIB WORLDWIDE is an independent creative organization that began in South-East Amsterdam. These young punks have created a brand with the main aim to make a difference through music & fashion. Lowlands is celebrating its 25th anniversary this summer. The festival offers impressive installations, including the renowned red and white chimney stacks. Lowlands also has covered stages so you can enjoy the music come rain or shine. Unique features that contribute to the Lowland experience include a wellness village with saunas, hot tubs and sports facilities, dozens of restaurants from all corners of the earth, food and drink stalls, a large market with everything from clothes and vinyl stores to a barber’s shop, its own currency, and even a local radio station.

Oasis Festival, Morocco – Featuring AMINE K
Amine K has been an elemental part of Oasis since 2015, the festival’s first edition. Co-founder of Morocco’s influential Moroko Loko parties, Amine K is a true ambassador for the country’s underground scene. Amine K has built a loyal following with his unique blend of Moroccan influenced music with sounds from all over the world. His set at Oasis 2017 is sure to be another standout performance. In the outskirts of the bustling city of Marrakech, Oasis brings a slice of festival paradise to Morocco. Oasis in shining the light on North Africa as the latest must-visit festival destination.
