Approximately two weeks ago, early bird tickets for WOMAD UK 2015 went on sale. WOMAD, the World’s Festival, returns to its home of Charlton Park in Malmesbury on Thursday, July 23 – Sunday, July 26, 2015. The lineup is to be released in 2015. Other WOMAD festivals occur throughout the year with locations including Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
WOMAD is short for the World of Music, Arts and Dance, and the festival includes thousands of artists to come together in 30 countries for one vision: to promote cross-cultural awareness and tolerance. WOMAD celebrated its 30-year anniversary as a festival in the UK and 20 years as a festival in Australia. As time has changed, the mission stayed true to its form by educating those of the world and its potential for a multicultural society. No two WOMAD festivals are alike, as each country impacts the atmosphere with music and dance that it presents differently. WOMAD officials work with different artists and experiences in order to create a global village of shops to complement their mission and add to the one-world feel of the entire event.
Early bird tickets are still available, starting at a price of £135, and the full price increasing to £160 on January 5, 2015 or when the limited number sells out. The ticket includes parking and camping and can be purchased online or by telephone, WOMAD officials are allowing attendees to pay for their tickets in four installments via Direct Debit with one payment per month for four months.
